Scottsdale, a city in Maricopa County, got its name from Winfield Scott. The U.S. Army Chaplain, along with his brother George, were one of the first residents in Scottsdale.
In 1888, Winfield Scott came to Salt River Valley with his wife Helen, and they bought 640 acres of property.
The Scott brothers developed a new town called Orangedale because there were citrus plants all over their property. Soon after, people started coming in, and the townspeople decided to rename Orangedale to Scottsdale in 1894. Two years after, Scottsdale formed their own school system, and the first school opened in 1897.

My company hired Creations Cuisine for a formal and intimate business dinner to reward clients for their referrals, and we're so very glad we did. We couldn't have been more pleased with our special event. I worked with Amber at Creations and she was efficient , attentive and responsive to my requests. She execute our dinner perfectly. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service during dinner. Chef Tony's food was wonderful and got rave reviews from our guests. Everything went PERFECTLY for our company event thanks to Creations in Cuisine. Everyone greatly enjoyed the food & beverage. All of the team members were professional and courteous. From the catering equipment delivery and pickup, to the desserts, passed appetizers, and service, it was all as we had hoped. Amber was also key in getting this all set up. We went back and forth many times until all the details were set. We look forward to working with them again in the future.
